Zappekin Fundraiser Gig with The Shocking & Stunning
We’ve been wanting to bring music to Zappekin since its inception as a creative space two years ago, and now we are lucky enough to have not just any live music, but The Shocking & Stunning from Wellington, one of our favourite live acts! Followed by Crispy Business playing some tunes to continue the revelry.
Expect: a magical sonic experience, to BYO, and a one off night in a historic former-fruit-shed-now-artist-studio with charismatic floor boards.
The Shocking & Stunning are Jack Hooker (synths/sampler/effects( and Sam Lovrich-Fitzpatrick (drums). Described in VanguardRed Magazine as “emotive, physically propulsive and above all, f**ing epic\\, the Shocking & Stunning were most active between 2010-2014. In that time they released six Eps, a music video, scored a documentary, toured numerous times throughout New Zealand and Australia, performed at festivals such as Camp A Low Hum and Rhythm and Alps, and played many house parties.
Since 2014 the band has made sporadic and select appearances, playing at festivals such as Twisted Frequency, Chronophonium, The Performance Arcade, A Gathering in the Forest – and now Zappekin!
