Gig Information

The undergrowth stirred, indeed was forcibly parted as a new leviathan emerged; a colossus rippling with the potential and promise of claiming its own specific place upon a terrain renowned for imposing and voracious fertility.

That acclaimed moment was uncaged by New Zealand, hailing MAMMUTHUS... a trio preparing to rip the landscape asunder with their new album, ‘Imperator’; a release set to turn that early stirring into a ravening of Proboscidean power and prowess.

The roar of MAMMUTHUS is a doom/stoner rock bred proposal embracing the inspirations of bands such as Black Sabbath, Sasquatch, Beastwars and Kyuss, but a confrontational involvement of sound with its own commanding individuality. The Wellington band’s 2020 released debut EP stamped down that distinction, its quartet of tracks a sinewy introduction and rippling of creative muscle which has grown into a pharaonic snowball of craft and imagination, evolution and intent, uniting within the unforgiving yet alluringly seductive beast that is ‘Imperator’.

The new album’s lead single, ‘Holy Goat’ has already proved a rich taste of the caprine wiles which lay waiting within ‘Imperator’. An eclectic body of enterprise and invention, ‘Imperator’ finds MAMMUTHUS breaching a whole new realm in heavy rock’s tempestuous plateaus. The album is a hulking shadow of sound and intimidation upon the senses, no more evident than in 'King Of The Dead' featuring Mark Mundell (ex Planet of the Dead); but, as proven by the likes of tracks such as ‘Formless’ - featuring EJ from End Boss - equally a source of keen surprise and imagination.

For growth and evolution any fertile land needs some sense of destruction to further blossom and MAMMUTHUS are set to trample all over the stoner and doom landscape with ‘Imperator’, whilst sowing the seeds of dense pleasure.

Joining them is an epic lineup of special guests

END BOSS
Emerging from deep within Te Whanganui-a-Tara's metal underground, End Boss are a powerhouse four piece of singer E.J. Thorpe, drummer Nathan 'Nato' Hickey (Beastwars), and guitarists Greg Broadmore and Christian Pearce (both of Ghidoragh). Recorded with loudness in mind by James Goldsmith and praised by the likes of Metal Hammer and Blabbermouth, prepare to be knocked flat by the band's sorcerous brew of mega-heavy riffage and otherworldly vocals. Press Start to End.

INTO ORBIT
A dynamic duo of guitar and drums whose immersive, genre-defying sound contains aspects of experimental rock, metal, prog, doom, ambience & drone.

DEAR ANTLER
An occult/satanic rock band hailing from Pōneke, Aotearoa. With their own brand of reverse evangelism, Dear Antler swing between vintage doom tones to melancholy ballads. Expect to hear a peppering of religious referencing that beckons the weary listener towards the ever impending doom of humanity or in some cases, may just make them slightly uncomfortable.
