Blue Train were one of Auckland’s original jazz-funk mainstays that were popular regulars of the vibrant High St jazz scene in the 90s. In 1996 they achieved Jazz Album of The Year with No Free Lunch and went on to produce a couple more albums, Never You Mind and Fun In The World.
Now, Blue Train are reuniting, and fresh off the back of a stellar performance at Tauranga Jazz Festival, they're coming to CJC, with crowd favourites Steve Sherriff, Alan Brown, Dixon Nacey, Karika Turua, and Elijah Whyte joining on drums.
“This band is an Auckland cultural institution, they are jaw droppingly good and that’s why people love them. ” — John Fenton
