SLIMIVICH
Is the eclectic new project from seasoned Ōtautahi metal vocalist Slim Jenkins and drummer Mo Galloway of Tainted infamy. Owing more to a life long love of downbeat electronic sounds, politically charged Rap and Hardcore Punk; deploying grinding synth harsh percussion and punishing bass; SLIMIVICH doesn’t explode like the duos metal credentials would suggest. Instead it radiates and crackles with all the allure of overloaded high voltage circuits, glowing and arcing in the dark.

Riding the wave of latest single ‘Grind’ along with the singles ‘Desert Shimmer’ and the darker ‘Hysteria’ grabbing new listeners by the throat; fans will not fail to be impressed by this reinterpretation of the same venom spitting Slim they came to know and love, or hate.

Remember the name Slimivich - No Chill.

SWIZL JAGER
Proudly Born and raised in Tauranga Moana (of Ngaiterangi and Te Rarawa descent) Swizl Jager, brings the freshest energy to Aotearoa’s urban music scene. Blending bi-lingual (Te Reo Māori & English) lyrics with a hip hop swag and a heavy metal background, Swizl Jager is out to produce a wide range of killer music with a unique approach capturing crowds from young to old and all walks of life.

With singles featured on a range of TV shows including “Find Me a Māori Bride”, “Moko Aotearoa” and “This is Piki” as well as performing with unparallelled energy solidly around the motu and Australia , Swizl Jager has developed the respect of countless fans and a significant portion of Aotearoa’s biggest names in music & film.

VENOM DOLLS
THE four Piece, all-female melodic punk outfit blasting straight out of 2020 into your ears now! Taking heavy inspiration from other loud women such as Babes in Toyland, and Destroy Boys, their sound infuses classic old school punk energy with hints of the metal, pop punk and blues tunes they devoured in adolescence. “Genres are weird, we just play what feels right for the song.”

Summah ‘the drummer’ Auvae, Carawei Gao, Lizzie Creed and Arlo Frances are out to invade local venues around the country aiming to brand their names on the growing list of NZ women pushing their way into Aotearoa’s music scene. Packing fast paced, highly relatable tunes, Venom Dolls are sure to get you dancing/moshing/accidentally injuring you neighbour.

TAKE HOLD
Auckland city melodic hardcore outfit Take Hold have returned to deal a decisive hit to Aotearoa Hardcore. Since resurfacing in 2022 Take Hold (vocalist Jai Aronsen, guitarist Tomas Newbury, bassist Thomas Butler-Ford, and drummer Harris Upham), have wasted no time reminding audiences how their reputation for energetic and emotive live shows was earned.

The band's first EP, Disrepair (mixed and mastered by Jay Maas of Defeater) was released in 2019, and planted Take Hold's flag firmly in the Aotearoa hardcore scene. This was quickly followed up by Spiral & Mourn, a searing one-two punch and further cementing Take Hold's sound and impacting performance. Since that time, the band have honed their craft, spending time in the studio, preparing to release their sophomore EP in the second half of 2023.

Take Hold presents dark and energetic melodic hardcore, both catchy and confronting all the while never sacrificing the honesty and simplicity of hardcore's golden era. Frantically aggressive and provokingly earnest, Take Hold makes a giant step up for one of Aotearoa's best hardcore acts.
