With an eruption of colour and glorious cacophony of aural delights, Exploding Rainbow Orchestra returns to Neck of the Woods for the second installation of the Songbook series on Sunday 27th August.
An ensemble of Tāmaki Makaurau’s finest musicians and composers, the 26-piece Exploding Rainbow Orchestra will be performing twelve brand new original songs, each with its writer as guest vocalist.
This time around, our very special guests are very special indeed! In democratically alphabetical order, they are: Delaney Davidson, Don McGlashan, Geoff Ong, Hollie Fulbrook, Lilith and Shay of Fessh, Louisa Nicklin, Mainard Larkin (Randa), Yolanda Fagan (Na Noise), Na’amah Cheiban, Paul Cathro, Rachel Clarke, and Steph Brown (Lips)!
Every one of these remarkable songsmiths has penned an entirely new work for this performance, with the Exploding Rainbow Orchestra taking the socialist approach and each contributing their parts to the backing arrangement, be it on strings, horns, or other noise making devices.
Will there be at least 27 people on stage at once At least! Will it be chaotic Gloriously so Will it blow minds, bend dimensions, and save souls Entirely likely! Expect a bombastic, colourful and totally unique musical experience that celebrates the magic music can make.
Tickets available from www.undertheradar.co.nz, with limited unwaged priced tickets to ensure everyone gets a chance to witness this spectacular spectacle.
