“Something essential happens in a vegetable garden. It’s a place where if you can’t say “I love you” out loud, you can say it in seeds. And the land will reciprocate, in beans.”
— Robin Kimmerer
Sometimes you say it with beans, sometimes you say it with music: Gardening Music is Jake Baxendale’s newest project celebrating gardening and the natural world. Performing with an all-new sextet, they present a collection of original compositions that emphasise melody, openness and generosity.
No stranger to CJC, with large collaborative bands such as The JAC, and Antipodes, the Wellington saxophonists latest collection of like-minded, green-fingered souls brings him and drummer Cory Champion together with Auckland based fellow-travellers Chelsea Prastiti, Callum Passells, Michael Howell, and Wil Goodinson.
