Announcing Sports Team’s Projector Party: An anything-goes curation of local filmmakers' no-budget explorations, touring the country this November. Given the season, the inaugural Projector Party screening series begins in Auckland Monday 6th with a spooky twist, featuring everything from gnarly body horror to pervy moons. This party's feature short (see what I did there) comes from the marvellous mind of Auckland-based filmmaker Conor Bowden. The Flat (Indie Short Fest's Best Mobile Short winner, Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia official selection) follows the banal tension between two bickering flatties, oblivious to the threatening presence haunting their home. Following the Tāmaki kick-off, Sports Team take their creepy collection to Põneke’s Vogelmorn Hall on Thursday 16th and to Õtautahi on the 19th at Space Academy.
Also on the line-up are offerings from 2024 Billy T Award nominee Rhiannon McCall, Billy T winner and Viva La Dirt League favourite Hamish Parkinson, award-winning Pōneke filmmaker Stella Reid and more.
Come along to the launch of Sports Team's Projector Party project and be amongst the very beginnings of a community celebrating unfunded hits and misses. Our ‘spooky’ gathering doubles as a fundraiser for Sports Team’s debut feature film - https://www.boosted.org.nz/projects/untitled-sports-team-horror-film. Future screenings won’t be for selfish reasons I promise.
