Doors 7pm, Performance starts 8pm
The Morningside Philharmonic are back at Ponsonby Social Club performing eclectic selections from the soundtrack of 1998’s iconic film “The Big Lebowski”!
A rare bird featuring a rotating cast of some of Auckland’s best session and jazz musicians, The Morningside Philharmonic come together at unpredictable intervals to perform a one-off set of whatever grabs their imagination at the time - past sold out performances include “don’t-call-it-jazz” versions of 90’s hip hop classics, and organ-driven cuts from the golden era of 70’s soul.
The Big Lebowski features a genre-spanning plethora of beautiful music that leaps between latin, classic rock, jazz, folk, psychedelia and beyond. Come and see the Morningside Philharmonic really tie the room together with a set of warped instrumental (and maybe vocal..?) takes on this brilliant soundtrack!
Featuring:
Jason Herbert (Guitar)
Joe Kaptein (Keyboards, Organ & Synthesisers)
Andrew Isdale (Saxophones)
