Outlaw Alt-Country group Shaky Hollows hail from Dunedin, bringing new energy to the folk genre.
Coming together in early 2022, they have put together an albums worth of original songs while gaining momentum in the local scene, playing shows to appreciative audiences.
Shaky Hollows play traditional string instruments with modern songwriting sensibilities. They twist together a blend of Americana, Folk and Alt-Country to create a uniquely wistful sound while singer/songwriter Casey Hilder weaves narrative tales of life throughout.
The bands lineup of seasoned musicians are,
Casey Hilder - Lead vocals/acoustic guitar.
Jared Smith - Acoustic guitar/vocals.
Holly Kerehi - Fiddle/Vocals.
David Lennon - Doghouse bass.
Emma Wells is a local musician originally from Invercargill now living in Dunedin. Her influences are vocalists such as Florence Welsh (Florence and the machine) Eva Cassidy and Beth Gibbons (Portishead). Her originals take on a vulnerable soulful feel, with bouts of power. Classically trained, she is able to control her voice to express different emotions capturing the essence of her songs.
