Wurld Series play Space Academy in celebration of their third album 'The Giant's Lawn' released late last year.
The Giant’s Lawn garnered critical praise. Post-Trash called the record the band’s ‘magnum opus’ and ‘indie rock at its most interesting’, whilst Add to Wantlist declared the album to be ‘an ambitious display of skill and talent’. RNZ Music had this to say about the album:
‘It’s a seventeen track collection that’s satisfyingly sprawling, but more importantly, each song is a trove of melodic nuggets waiting to be uncovered.’
Wurld Series reconvened as a live band in 2024 and embarked on a national tour that will culminate with a special hometown show at Space Academy on Saturday the 4th May with support from acoustic improvisational duo Roads to Toads (Rory Dally and Reuben Derrick) and Joe Sampson and The Need For Change.
