Killergrams is a musical ensemble led by composer and singer-songwriter Tom Maxwell, showcasing a fusion of folk, alt-country, gothic blues, and classic rock. Hailing from Arrowtown, New Zealand, Killergrams' focus on storytelling and raw emotion aims to resonate with audiences wherever they perform. With their latest release Midnight Hours reintroduced to the world, Killergrams continues to push their musical boundaries and entice listeners with their sound.
After the initial release of Midnight Hours in 2019, the album encountered an unexpected setback when it vanished from streaming platforms during a transition in distribution partners.
Undeterred, Killergrams embraced the challenge, using it as an opportunity to reissue the album in a renewed form.
The reimagined Midnight Hours features a collection of ten previously unreleased recordings, curated from recording sessions at Chick's Hotel in Port Chalmers and Studio Sublime in Kurow. Additionally, the album showcases two live performances from Killergrams - Industrial Sessions Live on YouTube.
Notable guest musicians have lent their talents to this reinvigorated release, including Holly Arrowsmith, Ryan Fisherman, Elmore Jones, Hana Fahy, Tom Lynch, David Craig, Tom Bell, Ollie McLean, Steve Roberts, and Tom Havard. Moreover, the album's artwork, beautifully crafted by Lydia Humphreys.
In celebration of this occasion, Killergrams invites music enthusiasts to experience their album live on stage. Mark your calendars for three performances: June 22nd at the Arrowtown Athenaeum Hall, June 28th at Ophir Peace Memorial Hall and June 29th at Rhyme x Reason in Wanaka.
