HOIHOI
An Ōtautahi (Christchurch) / Ōhinehou (Lyttelton) bilingual post-punk band who have been making noise together since 2020. HOIHOI sing in Te Reo Māori and English about themes such as the idea of home, climate change and more. Their name means be noisy and be quiet (depending on the context!). Their influences include the likes of Aotearoa legends Die!Die!Die! and faraway legends Pixies and Fugazi.
PINING RADIATA
Picking up where their 2024 debut EP left off, Pining Radiata deliver their new single ‘Not Awake’, showcasing crunchy guitars, fuzzed out Fender Rhodes and soaring harmonies. They’ll play favourites from their EP and unreleased material off their forthcoming album.
THE FAIRLIGHT CHOIR
After a recent spate of gigs across the North Island, Te Papaioea stalwarts The Fairlight Choir bring their volume and noise back into the fold here at The Stomach. Hot off the back of their recent single release and success in the SRN charts, you can be sure to expect a dialled mix of droning distortion and rhythmic noise.
BEEF
Local punks Beef emerge from the delta shed to serve up their rungle energy after a steady stream of
singles and gigs. Now a full band consisting of Jordan Kupe (Khaki Department), Amelia Shadbolt
(Persimmon), Fabian O’Halloran (The Nerines) and Abi Symes (Just George) they’re basically a
supergroup.
