Dónal Gunning is a singer songwriter from Dublin, Ireland. He draws on rock, folk, indie and punk influences.
Now based in Wellington, New Zealand his debut solo single Homesick released in October 2023. Homesick is a song dedicated to the masses who have emigrated their motherland for opportunity and adventure. It tells the story of the struggle in leaving friends and family.
His debut EP Born to Perform released in May 2024. The EP was inspired and written while travelling New Zealand, Portugal and Ireland.
Donal has released two singles in 2025 Your 1 & Losing Weight both of which have received tremendous praise globally. He is set to release a second EP later this year.
