Double, double, toil and trouble! Come seek refuge from the cold winter night as we get the fires burning and cauldrons bubbling at Pow Wow!
You'll be in for a night of the best duo acts that Wellington has to offer, with tunes ranging from hackneyed old favourites to cutting-edge originals. Get ready to sing, dance, drink and leave the bitter Wellington cold at the door!
About our acts:
Plaid Moon Rising:
UVSH's own Wolf Truong joins longtime friend and talented singer/instrumentalist Daniela Butterfield to bring you Plaid Moon Rising, your friendly neighbourhood covers duo! Sit back and relax for some easy listening as these plaid-wearing nerds give you harmony-laden acoustic renditions of your favourite folk rock tunes. Featuring hits from music greats including Cat Stevens, Paul Simon, Credence Clearwater Revival and Fleetwood Mac, there's bound to be something for everyone!
Yellow Rooms:
Yellow Rooms are Pōneke based sister duo Sarah and Grace Lawrence. The sisters swap between the violin, guitar, keys and vocals on songs that are both soulful and witty. Look out for their new release ‘Cool’ in the coming months!
The Footnotes:
The Footnotes are Wellington’s first ever 4-piece band with only 2 members featuring the inimitable talents of local legends, Theo Sekeris (guitar and bass, simultaneously) and Vorn Colgan (accordion and drums, simultaneously). Demonstrably the best pound-for-pound party band in the land!
