ME RESPITE is thrilled to announce their very first twinkling twilight concert; ‘Melodies for ME’. Showcasing some of NZ’s finest talent with angelic singer Leedia Zaia and musicians from Auckland’s Zest String Quartet.
Audiences are invited to enjoy a carefully curated concert programme which includes unforgettable melodies set to mesmerize among the candlelight.
This special night is dedicated to increasing awareness and raising funds for the ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) community and those with related illnesses, including Fibromyalgia (FM) and Long Covid (LC).
100 per cent of donations or koha offered at the concert will go directly to ME RESPITE’s crucial support programmes.
These include:
- Free meals and grocery deliveries to those who are house-bound, unable to shop or prepare meals due to severe symptoms
- Clothing and household items for those who are struggling on inadequate incomes
- Regular wellbeing calls and checks to reduce isolation and improve mental health
- Mentoring for those newly diagnosed with ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia, and Long Covid
- Peer support, education and management advice
- Individually tailored support as needed
- Social events to raise awareness

Artist Bio’s
Zest String Quartet is a collective of Auckland musicians, led by Amber Read, which aims to curate unforgettable live music experiences. Zest performs in a growing number of public recitals and festivals and have collaborated in performance with artists such Chong Nee, Anonymouz and Lana Fia. Founded in 2016, they've performed in venues including Auckland Museum, Auckland Art Gallery, SkyCity Events Centre, Trott's Garden, Corban Arts Estate and Shed10. In addition, all four regular members lead active lives in freelance music, teaching and performing with ensembles such as Opus Orchestra, Auckland Choral, and Auckland Philharmonia.
Leedia Zaia began singing in her church choir at the age of 10, where she first fell in love with music and performing. At 16, Leedia discovered a natural ability for opera and haven’t looked back since. While she has classical roots, her voice thrives across a wide range of genres including soul, R&B, and pop. Leedia is passionate about connecting with others through music and bringing a perfectionist’s dedication to every performance, always striving to make each note count.
