Local band, Valley Bluegrass, have been waving the Bluegrass flag for 12 years now and are looking forward to bringing you an evening of real bluegrass, played the traditional way. It’ll be the great music of Bill Munroe, Flatt & Scruggs, The Carter Family and many others. Robbie Stevens on banjo is one of the originals, Bevan Gardiner on guitar has been there almost as long, Monica Barkman on bass and Jackson Larrivee on mandolin are more recent along with Juliet Saul on fiddle. They regularly play at bars, restaurants, dances and can be seen almost every Saturday morning at the Otago Farmers Market, so long as it’s not snowing.
