Gig Information

Come one come all to this sick show presenting some of Tāmaki Makaurau's finest local bands at the lovely local craft beer bar Small Gods Taproom!

General reminder: It hopefully goes without saying, but STRICTLY no outside food or drinks!

PROSA are a Tāmaki Makarau/Berlin-based punk band formed by singer/guitarist Florian Bell and joined by Elle Purcell (bass) and Georgia Holden (drums). Envisioned as a crossover between Joy Division and Fugazi, Prosa attempts to attain the best of both post-hardcore and post-punk, while maintaining a complexity and depth to avoid superficiality and punk cliches. Prosa have perfected their prog punk sound with endless practices, ready to attack the ears, hearts and sensibilities of willing audiences. Envisioned as a crossover between Joy Division and Fugazi, Prosa attempts to attain the best of both post-hardcore and post-punk, two genres not conventionally mixed, hence the dire need for Prosa.

Hailing from New Zealand, Exit Sign is a fresh and sonically expansive project that delves into classic heavy psych and post rock with a modern sludge/post metal twist. Between band members Jay Alexander (Bass and Vocals), Ruairi Brunt (Guitars), and Kevin Khaleel (Drums), the power trio have taken their local music scene by force, playing multitudes of shows in the short time they've been active. After opening for Czech Republic's Onanizer and NYC's Imperial Triumphant, the band is recording their debut full length album, including singles 'Kaiju' and 'Subsistence'.

Stealwool (Previously known as Fishbait) is a 4 piece alternative act from Central Auckland.
Characterised by blistering sputtery fuzz, Stealwool has tendencies for noise, distortion, and uncompromised volume. With two J Mascis.-obsessed guitarists, a 5-string bass player, and a drummer who refuses to play quietly, Stealwool combines noise from different 90s alternatives like Hum, Seam, Dinosaur Jr, Unwound, Boris, and Built to Spill. Indulging in harmonic dissonance, unconventional song structures, dynamic shifts, and Marshall stacks that at least just give clues. Stealwool is sonically alternative.
