Gig Information

Every 3rd Sunday of the month we showcase four local songwriters and celebrate the rich culture and depth of talent we have here in Aotearoa.

This month we present.. jeline, Ktoo, Robyn-Lynn and Stephen Roy Hill.

Jeline is your ‘filipina-next door’ - An indie-pop-rock artist who's writing songs about
feelings she can't contain to herself and belting her heart out to whoever's listening! jeline
has surrounded herself in different genres and music tastes but after trying to find her feet as an artist, some honest talks with the industry and scrapping a whole ass album, she finally locked in to her recognisable indie-pop-rock sound. From songs about first love to obsessing over exes, jeline's relatability and vulnerability is always packaged in a song
you can bop along to! With her meaningful lyrics, powerhouse vocals and charming
personality, jeline's sure to hop on your radar!

---

“Ktoo” are Kevin McLoughlin and Kevin Ikin, two folk veterans who hail from Dunedin. They both played in Dunedin’s “Pioneer Pog ‘n’ Scroggin Bush Band” and were part of the long-running Wellington dance band “The Jimmies”.

They formed the duo Ktoo about 10 years ago to gather and record a collection of songs and tunes about the South Island’s West Coast, where they both have family links.
Ktoo’s CD, “Land of the West”, was released in 2017.

At the Songwriters’ Showcase, they will perform some of their West Coast originals and other more recent songs, focusing on issues that confront us now.

---

Robyn-Lynn is a singer–songwriter from the Kāpiti Coast, Robyn Lynn weaves songs that reflect on life’s stages with a thoughtful, philosophical touch. Drawing on folk, alternative, and pop-rock influences, her music balances intimacy with depth. For this special performance, she’ll be joined by Jarrad on acoustic guitar and Seb on drums, creating a softer, more stripped-back sound.

---

Stephen Roy Hill is a songwriter based in Lower Hutt in Aotearoa/New Zealand. Born and raised in Ireland he moved to Wellington in 2008. Stephen performs his folksy songs with an understated delivery but keen pop sensibility, weaving landscapes and emotions with an eye for detail and a refreshing turn of phrase. Inspired by Irish songwriters like Damien Dempsey and Iain Archer, as well as local artists like Delaney Davidson and international heavyweights like Nick Cave and Steve Earle, Stephen’s style is alternatively light and dark, silly and serious, calm yet entertaining.
