Join us this month from 8pm, 30 Oct, at darkroom for the return of Dyschezia Tenesmus and Les Fuzz Minou and from Auckland, Herstot.
Usually a Thursday Noise Situation is free but we will gladly accept koha for Herstot's travel expenses. They will also have CDs available on the night.
Herstot is the noise project of Auckland-based sound artist Paul Stothers
Harnessing effects pedals, feedback loops, field recordings and horror film fragments,
Herstot delivers brutal harsh noise and power electronics, while drawing on death metal,
drone, industrial, ambient, and spoken word.
The result: traumatic tone poems that soundtrack the geopolitical terror of our times.

Dyschezia Tenesmus Sextet
High energy epiphanies and revelations conspire with a bloody-black knuckled, smashed mirror approach to twentieth century fire music. At once a continuation of Harte’s turn of the millennium free improv unit CM Ensemble and a merging of Aotearoa Snuff Jazz Ensemble (founded by Harte, Jeff Henderson and Bruce Russell) and Will Callaghan’s contemporaneous Angelic Numberwang. Feverish ensemble confrontations and divinations plateau into trance-like states of transcendence and abjection. Call the police.
Will Callaghan: Electric Guitar
Reuben Derrick: Saxophone
Nick Harte: Trap Kit
Jeff Henderson: Saxophone
Greg Larking: Saxophone
Robin Osborn: Electric Bass
