Spring Sessions are a series of original music evenings over happening October and November, showcasing our local Tāhuna artists. It's time to put a spotlight on the compositions created from around our lakes and mountains we get to call home.
Join us on our first evening for jazz compositions from the QFO Experiment and Louis Koopman. The Queenstown Electric Funk Orchestra call themselves the alchemists of nostalgic rhythm in jazz, funk, dub and soul. QFO are exciting, spontaneous and alive. Their colliding instrumental compositions feature a revolving door of musical talent including: Campbell Reid, Alex Pyle, Louis Koopman, Thom Bentley, Nigel Hirst, Alex Yvestefeev, Henry Boyle and more. An engine room of bass, drums, guitar and keys topped off with percussion and a mighty brass section.
Opening the evening will be Louis Koopman (piano) and friends delighting with his semi-improv jazz sightings. This will be a seated event.
