Weekly Round Up: Friday 4th September

Friday 4th September, 2015 4:19PM

While this week wasn't exceptionally busy in terms of tour announcements (especially compared to last week, whew!), it did throw up a couple of doozies. There was the bittersweet announcement that legendary outfit Black Sabbath will be undertaking their farewell tour next year, which includes two New Zealand dates. Father John Misty announced one show on these shores off-the-back of Meredith Festival across the ditch. Speaking of things from across the ditch, Brisbane act MessMess is heading over later this month for a North Island tour with local teen group Yukon Era. And to top it off, Miss June announced a handful of shows around the country to celebrate the release of the new video for 'Student Loan'.

In release news, Tami Neilson has unveiled the first single from her forthcoming album Don't Be Afraid,  the track titled 'Lonely' features Marlon Williams and was the last song written by Tami's father Ron Neilson before he died. Recently formed Auckland teen five-piece Yukon Era unveiled a couple of tracks, including the swirling garage punk offering 'Vietnam Man' which is definitely worth a listen. Heroes For Sale, who won some studio time in Sydney thanks to Converse, shared one-off single 'Eviction'. Prolific local film maker Simon Ward stepped into international territory and made an excellent video clip for eccentric rapper Le1f and his new song 'Koi'. And we were delighted to learn of that Michael Gira of Swans is making personalised artwork for people who buy their live album The Gate, which is a fundraiser for their next studio project.

This week for Caught Live, we wanted to pay tribute to Graham Brazier who sadly just passed away, aged 63. Here is a clip of his group Hello Sailor performing a great live version of their classic tune 'Gutter Black'...
