Weekly Round Up: Friday 18th September

Friday 18th September, 2015 12:43PM

This week brought with it some great tour news. We were stoked to reveal that Japanese post-rock instrumentalists Mono are returning to New Zealand for one show in December. That same month will also see Sonic Youth founder Thurston Moore bring his band to these shores to play songs from his latest solo album, The Best Day.  November will see Detriot-based musician Shigeto returning to Auckland for one date. Also in November, Sydney-based singer and songwriter Sarah Belkner will be bringing her dreamy chamber-pop across the ditch for three shows. In local tour news, The Transistors and The Situations revealed details for a double album release tour kicking off next weekend. And looking forward to next year, Iron Maiden unveiled the dates for their New Zealand shows.

In release news, we copped a brand new track from wonderful Auckland outfit The Conjurors, from their forthcoming EP out November through 1:12 Records. The Situations also unveiled an excellent single titled 'Hamburg', which was apparently written under mysterious circumstances while overseas on tour. Further abroad, Mexi-punk outfit Le Bucherettes made their new album A Raw Youth available for streaming. CHVRCHES shared a new single from their sophomore record coming out next week. Black metal outfit Deafheaven unleashed another epic tune as they inch closer to the release of their album New Bermuda. And Warpaint's Jenny Lee announced that she will be releasing her debut solo album, titled right on!, in December through Rough Trade Records, and provided a little taster of things to come.

This week's Caught Live is an amazing video of Health getting into a spot of trouble, and then performing at Primavera festival in Barcelona earlier this month...
