Friday 25th September, 2015 10:00AM

Brisbane-based group Violent Soho have announced a special one-off show for October, ahead of their appearance at Laneway Festival next year. The upcoming show is the first time the alt-rock four piece will have played on New Zealand soil, and with their fourth album firmly in the works it is expected that they will bring with them some fresh material as well as music from their previous three albums. Here are the details for the show...

Violent Soho

Just announced to play Laneway Festival 2016, Violent Soho are heading to Auckland ahead of the festival for a one off show October 30 at the King's Arms! It'll be the band's first ever headline show on our fair shores, something that's long overdue.

Adept at turning tales of suburban ennui into raucous rock songs, Violent Soho are the Australian answer to the revered alt-rock Seattle sound that dominated basements, garages and mixtapes in the 90s. The longstanding four-piece have an impressive history: they’ve toured internationally and scored massive support slots for bands like Dinosaur Jr. and Built to Spill; and they sold out every date of their last (extensive) Australian headline tour on the back of their album Hungry Ghost. Hungry Ghost hit the Aussie album charts at #6 with certified Gold sales (35,000+ sales).

They’re currently in the studio working on the much anticipated follow-up to Hungry Ghost, and this week teased fans with the date 8 October 2015; indicating we should expect some more news from Violent Soho soon.

Here in only six weeks, do not miss your chance to see Violent Soho ahead of Laneway 2016.

Tickets on sale 9am Wednesday 30th from Under The Radar.
