Weekly Round Up: Friday 6th November

Friday 6th November, 2015 2:43PM

This week brought with it some exciting festival news. The highly-anticipated Auckland City Limits revealed the line-up for its inaugural run, which includes the likes of The National, Kendrick Lamar, Action Bronson and more. Courtney Barnett was added to the already staggering bill for next year's Echo Festival. And the exciting new NZ Psych Fest was announced for Auckland in December, which will bring together a bunch of  mind-bending acts from around the country. Multi-instrumentalist Thundercat announced a Wellington sideshow from his appearance at next year's Laneway Festival. Father-and-son-centric act Tweedy revealed the date for one Auckland show for March. And Andrew Fagan and The People lined up a string of South Island shows for later this month to support the recent release of Ancestor EP.

In release news, Steve Abel shared the lovely first single from his forthcoming third album Luck/Hope, due out next year. Sardonic songwriter Ron Gallipoli let loose his new album Agrokomplex for streaming via Bandcamp. Connan Mockasin teamed up with Devonte Hynes aka Blood Orange for a three-track EP and gave us a wee taster with the slinky single 'Feelin' Lovely'. The Veils have announced their signing to London-based Nettwerk Records and revealed they are in the studio working on an album which will include a collaboration from EL-P. Brooklyn dream-pop outfit DIIV shared the second single from their upcoming album Is The Is Are. And Seth Bogart of Hunx and His Punx revealed a cool collaborative track with none other than riot grrrl icon Kathleen Hanna.

This week's Caught Live is Sufjan Stevens covering Drake's 'Hotline Bling' live in Jersey City earlier this week, which caught a bit of shade from different corners of the internet. Judge for yourself...
