Weekly Round Up: Friday 20th November

This week we were delighted to announce the return of Cat Power to these shores for two shows in February, during which fans can expect to see the musician perform material from her forthcoming 10th studio album. Texas-based soul singer Leon Bridges shared the date for an Auckland appearance in the new year. And the organisers of Westfest revealed that NOFX will be on the bill for next year's event, and are promising to let loose more venue and line up details very soon.

In release news, Wellington witch-rock trio Mermaidens have unveiled the first single from their debut album due out next year. Primitive punks The Cavemen let us have an early peek at their debut record before they hit the road for the release tour this weekend. A wonderful video came out of the woodwork to accompany Pumice's song 'Mothers In Mantis' from this upcoming album Puddles. Solo artist Aporia premiered his new single 'Bad Faith' featuring the lovely Fazerdaze. And further abroad, David Bowie unveiled this tripped-out video for the title-track from his new album Blackstar, and it's a must-watch.

This week's Caught Live is Emily Edrosa performing 'Corner Of The Party' in the bFM bus as part of the Bombathon fundraiser. You can help their efforts by flicking a few pingers over here...
