Recordings I made in November. Turangawaewae (Maori) or 'a place to stand'. A place where I am grounded, centred; in touch with my power or the strength of my individuality and connection to the whole. Where is my Turangawaewae? When I am in touch with my body, speaking my truth and on the path to embodying, fully, my self in all honesty. Then I am standing in my place of power, my Turangawaewae. When I stand up for and defend what I believe is true, when I challenge myself to face and overcome my fears, when I reach out and share my love with others, when I take off the mask, when I am present to my surroundings and connected to nature. Then I am standing in my place of power, my Turangawaewae. When I am in Aotearoa (New Zealand), experiencing the beauty of the Taiao or 'natural world' I am also in my Turangawaewae. Where is your place of power? When are you standing in your Turangawaewae? Where are we when we are absent from this place... its the only place I want to be.
