Weekly Round Up: Friday 27th May

Friday 27th May, 2016 2:22PM

In this week's tour news, we had UK goth-rockers The Mission announcing their first New Zealand shows in 26 years. Swedish hardcore crew Raised Fist revealed the date for one performance on these shores for November. Rapper A$AP Ferg is making his way back here for one appearance at The Powerstation in September. Also in September, grime specialist Skepta (pictured) will be coming for three shows around the country. And in local tour news, Lawrence Arabia announced a string of shows to celebrate the release of his fourth studio album. Pacific Heights aka Devin Abrams revealed two dates across Wellington and Auckland to support his first full-length record in eight years. And the daily line-ups for K road's Borderline Festival has been let loose.

In release news, we caught official word of a new album from The Veils which has been co-produced by American hip hop royalty EL-P. Unknown Mortal Orchestra let a new track out of the woodwork, titled 'First World Problem' which is their first original music since the release of the highly regarded album Multi-Love. Newly formed Wellington band Teeth have given us an excellent debut track to chew on. From overseas, Thee Oh Sees emerged with another solid slice of psychedelia called 'Plastic Plant' along with the announcement they are putting out a new full-length record real soon. And Dinosaur Jr shared a slice of their upcoming album by unveiling new single 'Tiny'.

This week's Caught Live is Auckland act Centre Negative as shot at the Darkroom in Christchurch by Waste Paper. Despite only two members visible in this shot (Michael McClelland and Ducklingmonster), the band size ebbs and flows between one to 9ish members. They're pretty incredible live, so catch them next time you can...
