Weekly Round Up: Friday 12th August
Some awesome tour news came through the wires this week. Garage rock legends The Troggs announced a six-date New Zealand tour to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their smash hit 'Wild Thing'. Notorious Japanese act King Brothers are coming back to tear things up for three shows in November. Melbourne-based troubadour Skyscraper Stan and his band The Commission Flats have lined up a heap of dates around the country for Ocotober. Scottish pop rock makers Simple Minds have teamed up with American party starters The B-52's for two arena-sized appearances next year. And on the local front Clap Clap Riot will be making tracks around the nation next month with their buddies Racing.
In festival news, the first line-up was revealed for this year's Rhythm & Vines and it's topped by Chance The Rapper, Zu and Rufus. The good folk at the Tuning Fork lifted the lid off the details for the Southern Fork Americana Fest 2016, and it looks set to bring Auckland another wonderful mix of international and local country artists in October. And the organisers of The Others Way shared the second line-up announcement which includes a rare appearance from King Loser, along with Nadia Reid, Echo Ohs, Salad Boys and more.
