Video: Yumi Zouma - Keep It Close To Me
Yumi Zouma have unveiled their self-directed clip for 'Keep It Close To Me', the stand-out single from their debut album Yoncalla. The video's release comes as the group hit the road for a massive tour which kicks off tonight with a show at The Others Way festival in Auckland and a Saturday show at Wunderbar in Christchurch - before they around Australia, Asia, and Europe. Speaking to Gorilla Vs Bear, the group explained the creation of the clip...
We shot this the last weekend we were all together following two months of touring Yoncalla. It was filmed at a friend’s studio in Brooklyn – mid July, no AC. It was only the four of us. We’d take turns setting up the camera and making sure things were in focus, and then yell ‘GO!’ We had the freedom to do whatever we wanted, along with the comfort of being super close as friends – we were really able to let loose and have fun. This video is also special in that it bookends 'Keep It Close To Me' – recorded in our apartments, mixed on our laptops with a video shot by ourselves and edited by our buddy Jer Paulin."
