Weekly Round Up: Friday 30th September

Weekly Round Up: Friday 30th September

Friday 30th September, 2016 4:07PM

Tour news wasn't very fruitful this week, but plenty of Boy George fans were hyped to hear that the iconic figure is bringing his band Culture Club to New Zealand for the first time ever. We've also caught wind of some cool tour announces happening early next week so stay tuned!

In release news, there was some top notch local stuff coming out of the woodwork. Auckland stoner-rock trio Blazing Shade emerged with the ripping new cut 'Grimoire'. We were treated to some spellbinding retro-psych visuals from Seeds Of Orbit with their new video for 'iStoner'. Delaney Davidson's Manos Del Chango lifted the lid on single 'Lowdown and Blue' ahead of their nationwide tour kicking off next week. Princess Chelsea announced a forthcoming covers album and shared her version of Marianne Faithfull's 1965 song 'Morning Sun'. On the streaming front Yukon Era let loose their sophomore EP Consume & Scratch. And we were delighted to preview the new EP from Christchurch-based solo act French_concession.

This week's Caught Live is some fan footage of Metallica performing 'Moth Into Flame' at a 2000-person show at Webster Hall in NYC. Apparently it's the first time the group have performed the new single live...
