Video: Tourettes - The Greatest New Zealander Ever (UTR Premiere)

Monday 3rd October, 2016 10:21AM

A few weeks ago the subversive wordsmith known as Tourettes aka Dominic Hoey let loose one of his most intriguing projects to date, Feel Like Shit, Looking Great!. Presented as a book-slash-album, the 15-track offering was made in collaboration with producer Abraham Kunin and traverses the line between poetry and storytelling - with the occasional rap thrown in for good measure.

On the coattails of the album's unveiling, Tourettes is now lifting the lid off 'The Greatest New Zealander Ever',  a stand-alone spoken word piece which is described in a statement as thus:

'The Greatest New Zealander Ever!' is an ode to this country's patron saint of everything rightwing and beige, Mr Richie McCaw! Tourettes imagines a biopic retracing Richie's well worn rugby boots as he climbs from the depths of middle class farm life to the heady heights of puppet for our gracious overlord John "Fuck the poor" Key.

The video for the biting piece of anti-patriotism sees Tourettes teaming up with Joel Taco for directorial duties, meanwhile Dan Veint stars as Richie, Roy Irwin as John Key, Mistress and Thee Gay Uso from FAF SWAGG as Richie's parents, and Liam Bree as Dan Carter. Check it out below...

Tourettes will be performing at A Variety Of Show Offs Variety Show this coming Saturday 8th October at Whammy Bar in Auckland. Head over here for more information.
