Eyegum Announce A Gathering In The Forest Festival

Wellington's Eyegum Music Collective have announced a new festival which will take place over Waitangi Weekend next year. Named A Gathering In The Forest, the inaugural event is set to be held across two days at a currently-secret secluded location near Whanganui - with on site camping available. Along with announcing the festival, the initial line-up has also been revealed with bands from Auckland, Wellington and Whanganui joining the fold. A Gathering in the Forest festival launched

Since forming in 2013, Eyegum have made a name for themselves putting on events in houses, bowls clubs, community halls and bars. They’ve had hundreds of bands (both well known and lesser known) flow through and have launched their first nationwide tour with Madeira.

Having grown up going to Camp A Low Hums and Chronophoniums and seeing that there was little on the calendar (bar the beautifully conceived and awesome little fest that is NOW) Eyegum have realized that they needed to step up and do something about this.

Finding a beautiful isolated spot in the middle of the North Island with few neighbours to annoy, work is already underway to prepare the space for a beautifully intimate event.
