Stream Girls Pissing On Girls Pissing's New Album 'Songs of Sodomy and the Compost of Aethyr'
Having lured us in with a handful of unsettling-yet-captivating singles, Auckland's purveyors of the discordant Girls Pissing On Girls Pissing have now let loose their new double album Songs of Sodomy and the Compost of Aethyr. Following on from their Dirtbag Award-winning 2015 offering Scrying in Infirmary Architecture, the new album is the product of members both past and present, and finds ground walking the path between "love songs, dirges, ballads, scathing reprimands, backwards pop hits and hypnotic segues".
Leeds-based label Muzai Records explain in a statement that the album was produced according to a rule of halves, going on to say: "that roughly half of each track is comprised of live elements (recorded partially in Auckland’s Wine Cellar by Rohan Evans), the remainder up for patient experimentation and refiguring at the group’s home/rehearsal space". It was then sent off to the band’s now longtime Brussels-based collaborator Remi Salvador for mastering.
