Weekly Round Up: Friday 16th June

Friday 16th June, 2017 1:45PM

In tour news this week, Atlantan rap trio Migos announced their debut New Zealand show for Auckland in October. Also in October, alt rock outfit Everclear are returning this way to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their seminal album So Much For The Afterglow. Seattle electropop duo Odeza are releasing their third studio album in September and will be celebrating with a jaunt downunder. Wellington group Grawlixes are hitting the road throughout July to support the unveiling of their debut record, Set Free. The second iteration of the 'Scuse Me Tour has been lined up for July and will see a bunch of local up-and-coming artists hitting Dunedin, Auckland and Wellington. And that same month will also see Christchurch get another excellent Darkspace festival with a bit of a capital city twist.

In release highlights, we were surprised by The Horrors, who dropped new single 'Machine' and have us crossing our fingers for an album on the way. Onehunga rap crew SWIDT let loose their new x-rated jam 'Tonight' which features vocal stylings from Bailey Wiley. Globally divided trio Deer Park have broken a silent spell with the release of new single 'Birthdays' and they told us they've definitely got more material up their collective sleeve. Australian alt-country artist Julia Jacklin (who was just here for a sell-out show) released her fantastic new single 'Eastwick' which came with a self-directed video. Also on the visual front Queen Neptune shared a home cooked clip for their timely single 'Queen's Speech'. And last but not least is the amaaaazing new video from Aldous Harding, which pays unique homage to Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now.

For this week's Caught Live we dug up a fanshot clip of Pallbearer performing in Washington DC earlier this month. Head over here to cop tickets to their upcoming New Zealand shows....
