Weekly Round Up: Friday 18th August

Friday 18th August, 2017 4:30PM

In tour news this week we were happy to reveal that The xx have lined up their first New Zealand show in seven years off the back of their latest album I See You. Long-standing group Die! Die! Die! announced a five-date tour of the country for October to celebrate their new record Charm. Offensive. Wellington's Disasteradio will be heating up dancefloors around the nation in coming weeks as he heads out on his Sweatshop album release tour. Lawrence Arabia surfaced to reveal three dates for solo shows in Wellington and Dunedin for September. Alt-folk darlings Eb & Sparrow shared haunting new single 'To The West' and announced a string of shows around the country to celebrate. And in festival news the first line-up for this year's Rhythm & Vines festival was announced and sees ScHoolboy Q headlining.

In release news this week we were completely spoilt! Coming out of Wellington, Opium Eater let loose their epic new tune 'Babelsteps' which is set to feature on upcoming record Ennui. Synth-loving duo Queen Neptune shared their compelling new single 'The Body House'. Auckland psychedelic surf stalwarts Echo Ohs lifted the lid off their extra-terrestrial new tune 'Aliens' as they ready to release full-length album Hot Pockets next month followed by a jaunt in the US of A. Meanwhile, Coyote (who are possibly the cutest two-piece in the country) shared a couple of songs along with some lo-fi vids. On the streaming side of things, electro-pop artist Miloux let loose her bass-heavy new offering EP 2. And Auckland nine-piece Magic Factory shared their shiny debut album Working With Gold.

This week's Caught Live, well okay it's not a new clip, but our boy Fluffy is over at Psycho Las Vegas where he gets to see Sleep live. We're green with envy (but have a great time Fluff-dawg!!), so we're enjoying this performance from Sleep in San Fran earlier this year instead...
