SoccerPractise Drop Debut Self-Titled Album + Video

Auckland left-field electronic group SoccerPractise have dropped their long awaited self-titled debut album after a winning run of singles. The four-piece shot to national prominence with a stunning performance of Moana Maniapoto’s 'Tahi' at the Silver Scroll Awards 2016. They're at the forefront of the ongoing conversation around the visibility of Maori language in contemporary New Zealand culture, with vocalist Geneva Alexander-Masters’ lyrics being sung in both Te Reo Maori and English. As captivating live as on record, their shows feature the wizardry of video artist Kim Newall who performs projected visuals with the group. Beatmaker Thom Burton shared his thoughts on the new record...

“I personally would call the album "unhinged noir'n'b." Aesthetically we have set out to do what we didn't really hear any one else doing, and I think because of this there's an unease or underlying threat that everything will come apart at any moment... I’d hope that the excitement and energy we get from that comes through."
