Premiere: System Corporation Share Soaring Single 'Apathy Is Easy'
New Zealand alt-rock five-piece System Corporation have shared their second single 'Apathy Is Easy', following their well-received recent debut tune 'Dismal Universal Hiss'. The group features The Datsuns members Ben Cole and Phil Somervell, alongside the band's longstanding engineer Scott Newth and Rumpus Room members Kent Newth and Andrew Newth. System Corporation cite John Dwyer (Thee Oh Sees), The Subliminals and Ty Segall as influences on their soaring rock sound and will be releasing their debut album Fiction Dept. later this year. Check out Scott Newth's comments on the political meaning behind the new track and listen to 'Apathy Is Easy' below...
"'Apathy Is Easy' is about how we have to blindly accept politicians at their word, and then just hope they will follow through on their promises. It’s no wonder so many people don’t vote. It’s one thousand times easier not too. Politics can be deceiving, complicated and as much as the press sensationalise it, boring. Apathy is the easy option."
'Apathy Is Easy' can be pre-ordered via System Corporation's Bandcamp. You can catch System Corporation performing at Hamilton's Future City Festival 2018 on the weekend starting Friday 9th March, for more info and tickets see HERE.
