Courtney Barnett Shares Heartfelt Single 'Need A Little Time' + Video

Australian songwriter Courtney Barnett continues her winning streak with 'Need A Little Time', the heartfelt latest single from her new record Tell Me How You Really Feel which is out this May. Like previous single 'Nameless, Faceless', Barnett's new tune is an invigorating yet anxiety-fuelled lament, the artist's crackly voice singing of needing a quiet place away from watchful eyes. The stylish video by director Danny Cohen sees Barnett moving through a futuristic environment, undergoing mysterious examinations by humanoid companions and zooming into outer space, providing a feel for her own alienation as an instantly recognisable celebrity. "'Need A Little Time' has this soaring, floating feeling to it. I decided to play on the meaning of the song, Courtney needs some time away from herself (and you). I didn’t want to show Courtney leaving her friends/family/fans etc, it needed to be more metaphorical. Courtney floats through space and time, ends up in some isolated part of the universe. She finally has found some time alone, just Courtney and her guitar, singing in space without a care in the world."
