Premiere: Thousand Limbs Share Dusky Video 'Amok'

Friday 27th April, 2018 11:00AM

Auckland-based instrumental doom band Thousand Limbs have unveiled a dark and visually stunning clip for their track ‘Amok’. Directed by Amber Beaton (who was also behind Hex’s excellent Sight Beyond The Line), the video shows guitarist Patrick Gray as a mystical hermit character traversing through snowy, grayscale woods. Even with the shadowy aesthetic, the creative process was far from bleak, as Gray describes...

“During the shoot I could not really see anything wearing the white contacts, and during one of the first shots, Amber told me to walk in a certain direction, then she started just playing around with some equipment so I blindly walked into a ditch and fell down a small bank. I was certain that she did it on purpose at the time, but she assures me she did not, which i do believe, as she would have no problem taking credit for pranking me like that if it was intentional.”

The song is lifted from the quartet’s forthcoming debut Woe, which drops on Friday 8th June. Until then, get acquainted with ‘Amok’ below...

Thousand Limbs are playing Whammy Backroom to celebrate the release of 'Woe' on Friday 15th of June with Slumbug and Ginzu ATSK.
