Northland shredders Alien Weaponry have unleashed the latest tune form their forthcoming debut album Tu, dropping in June via pre-eminent Austrian metal label Napalm Records. Their powerful new single is titled 'Kai Tangata', which translates in English as "Eat People" and is a traditional term for a war party on the move. The track explores the band's cultural heritage and is inspired by the early 19th Century Musket Wars in Aotearoa. There will also be a video for the brutal tune dropping within the next twenty four hours filmed at Waipu Caves and in band members the de Jong brothers’ Te Arawa tribal territory. Singer and lead guitarist Lewis de Jong shared his thoughts around the tune, stating “Some people might find it a bit grisly... but it’s stuff that actually happened and nobody ever talks about it. We’re not saying it’s right or wrong, it’s just a part of our history.” Wrap your ears around 'Kai Tangata' below and check out the teaser video... UPDATE: the video is now out and viewable below.

'Tu' is out Friday 1st June via Napalm Records.
