The Adults Share Vibing Single 'Boomtown' Ft. Chelsea Jade & Raiza Biza
The Adults (the collaborative project of Jon Toogood from Shihad) have shared a toe-tapping tune titled ‘Boomtown’. The track features Silver Scroll-nominated pop artist Chelsea Jade and swift rhyme slinger Raiza Biza, and is a stark departure from the guitar-driven rock of Shihad. Lifted from The Adults’ forthcoming full length HAJA (which is a respectful Arabic term for an older, more experienced woman) which is dropping in July, the track is downright up-beat. Toogood mused on drawing inspiration from traditional Sudanese music (Aghani-Al-Banat which translates to 'girls music') performed at his wedding in Khartoum...
“This track is the most positive, uplifting track I think I’ve ever written and that’s heaps to do with the Aghani Al-Banat track I chose to write the tune around. I remember hearing it played at my wedding and couldn’t get it out of my head. After playing all this music along with it I had a tune that we couldn’t stop listening to.”
'HAJA' is out Friday 20th July via Warner Music New Zealand.
