Slowdive Remixes 'Frustrated Operator' By A Place To Bury Strangers

Wednesday 4th July, 2018 12:46PM

UK shoegaze legends Slowdive have re-emerged with a hypnotic remix of New York noiseniks A Place To Bury Strangers' recent single 'Frustrated Operator'. The haunted reimagining swaps out the intense punchy squalls of the original with a dreamlike and dirgey ambience, it's the first track to emerge from the US group's upcoming collection Re-Pinned, which will feature remixes of songs from their latest album Pinned by Trentemøller, No Age, METZ, Eric Copeland, Roly Porter, Davy Drones, and TBO. APTBS feature Dion Lunadon of influential local garage punks The D4 amongst their members, who reformed to blaze a path of destruction across New Zealand a few months back. APTBS singer and guitarist Oliver Ackermann shared his excitement about Slowdive's remix of their track...

“It is also such a dream come true and an honour to have our label mates Slowdive remix ‘Frustrated Operator'... Slowdive was such an influence on A Place To Bury Strangers as there really is no artist that does epic, scary and beautiful soundscapes like them. In fact, this band started when my friends Tim and Dave were asking if I wanted to play drums in a band that sounds like Slowdive. So, there it is set in stone as it has come full circle! I can die now.”

'Re-Pinned' is out Friday 5th October via Dead Oceans.
