King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Share Sci-Fi Single 'Cyboogie' + Video

Prolific Melbourne psych icons King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have lifted the lid on a cybernetic single named ‘Cyboogie’. The aptly-titled track builds retro rock rhythms over a bluesy swing beat, with synthesisers from outer space putting a cherry on top of the sonic cake. The future-gazing tune is the first new material from the group since Gumboot Soup rounded out the band’s mammoth five-albums-in-one-year run on the final day of 2017.

The fist-pumping single is accompanied by a playful clip directed by Jason Galea, shot in a vintage style. The video depicts the merry gang wearing space attire amidst fairy light ambience and twiddling knobs on all manner of electronic devices, recalling the over-the-top antics of 70s Aussie synth-gurus Cybertron.
