Stephen Malkmus Drops Single 'Rushing The Acid Frat' + Video
Former Pavement frontman Stephen Malkmus has lifted the lid on the second single from his upcoming album Groove Denied, the indie-rock icon's first solo record (sans the Jicks) since 2001. Unlike the new long player's lead single ‘Viktor Borgia’, which gestured towards the left field electronic realms mapped out by UK synth-pop pioneers Gary Numan and Human League, 'Rushing The Acid Frat' pivots back towards the US songwriter's familiar jangle-guitar territory, albeit with a trippy twist, with ear-tickling sounds and hazy grooves bubbling about the track's snappy two and a half minutes duration. The artist's signature tongue-tangling wordplay remains intact and comes accompanied by a sunny animated clip by Robert Strange and James Papper, experience 'Rushing the Acid Frat' here...
'Groove Denied' is out Friday 15th March via Matador Records.
