Mavis Staples Shares Powerful Single 'Change'
US soul / RnB icon Mavis Staples (Staple Singers) has delivered an inspirational anthem with her latest single 'Change', drawn from the legendary artist's upcoming 12th studio solo album We Get By dropping this May. The bluesy protest tune was co-written and produced by Ben Harper, who collaborated with Staples on all the tracks on the record, which continues the tradition of stirring political themes from her 2017 long player with Jeff Tweedy If All I Was Was Black. Staples opened up about the motivating force behind her latest collection, stating “These songs are delivering such a strong message... we truly need to make a change if we want this world to be better.” Her new song sounds painfully relevant following last Friday's terror attacks in Christchurch, yet offers a hopeful vision for the future – listen to 'Change' here...
'We Get By' is out Friday 10th May via ANTI-.
