Embedded Figures Unveils Seven Track 'Inferno' EP
Melbourne via Dunedin electronic artist Embedded Figures has low-key dropped a seven track collection, including recently unveiled singles 'Inferno' and 'St Kilda', along with a fistful of remixes by Antipodean artists Evelyn Ida Morris (aka Pikelet), Dudley Benson, Murdabike, Scraps and Activities of Daily Living. The smouldering robo-rhythms of 'Inferno' showcase Embedded Figures' stun-gun beats and spooky synths as her vocals build with emotional intensity, while 'St Kilda' is a tense electronic no wave banger, conjuring distorted images of beachside suburbia fed through a post-industrial wringer – you can watch videos for both tracks created by fellow Rise Of The City Cat Cult member Ducklingmonster here. Dunedin's Murdabike blast 'St Kilda' into a locked groove hyperspace, Dudley Benson imbues the same song with a celestial glow, and Evelyn Ida Morris (who also recorded and mixed the collection) puts a skittish spin on 'Inferno'.
