Listen To Sarah Mary Chadwick's Album 'The Queen Who Stole The Sky'

Monday 15th April, 2019 1:40PM

Melbourne-based expat songwriter Sarah Mary Chadwick (Batrider) has unveiled her latest long player The Queen Who Stole The Sky. Recorded and performed live on Melbourne Town Hall’s humungous 147 year-old grand organ, the eleven track collection is the result of a commission by Melbourne City Council "to create an entirely new body of work, to be written and recorded in just three months on an instrument grand in size, sound and antiquity." The timeless-sounding album sees the artist drawing inspiration from rural isolation, death, and “the fact that I’m always waiting for life and it never arrives – it only ever leaves”. You can watch a video depicting the immensity of Chadwick's glorious-toned chosen keyboard instrument here, read our mind-bending recent interview between the artist and fellow Melburnian Michael McClelland (Bloody Hell) here, and enjoy a stream of the full collection below...

'The Queen Who Stole The Sky’ is out now via Rice Is Nice Records + Heavy Machinery Records (AUS) + out via Sinderlyn Records (US / EU) on Friday 19th April.
