Omar S Returning To New Zealand In June

Tuesday 23rd April, 2019 1:46PM

Detroit electronic dance music titan Omar S is making a return visit to Aotearoa this winter, with a headline event teed up for Auckland's Galatos courtesy of the hard-working folk at Friendly Potential, who recently brought us the star-studded multi-night Catacombs festival. Omar S is revered throughout the globe for his head-spinning house / techno production wizardry, as expressed on such crucial collections as 2016's The Best! and 2013's Thank You For Letting Me Be Myself. If you're at all into "this kind of this thing" you know you'll be making your way to Galatos in June...

Press release:

Detroit mastermind Omar-S [FXHE] is returning to New Zealand on Friday, 21st June at Galatos.

There really is no-one like Omar-S. For over fifteen years, his albums and 12"s have been found in the crates of any DJ worth your attention, and his FXHE label has cultivated new house talent such as Kyle Hall, Kai Alce, Seth Troxler, and Marcellus Pittman, as well as showcasing underground kings like Norm Talley and Big Strick. Yet he has done all of this with no PR, no social media campaigns, and no bullshit. If you know, you know.

We’ve decided to give you a bit of extra room this time, so are super stoked to welcome Omar-S to Galatos. Anyone who was there last time knows this will be an unforgettable session. Dress to dance.

Friendly Potential is an open, inclusive party for people who want to have a good time. We can't relax until you do, so if someone is making you feel uncomfortable please let one of the crew or venue staff know.

Accept one another, be friendly & have fun!
