Flying Lotus Shares Single 'More' feat. Anderson .Paak
We've been experiencing a wave of releases from LA electronic figurehead (and Brainfeeder head honcho) Flying Lotus in the leadup to his first album in five years Flamagra, which kicked off with a bizarro audio-visual collab with Twin Peaks maestro David Lynch. FlyLo has joined forces with none other than California hip hop / soul icon Anderson .Paak for the new record's latest cut 'More', complementing .Paak's golden vocal tones and socially conscious lyricism with celestial synths and jazz-inflected funk grooves. Flamagra is set to be an all-star affair, featuring contributions from George Clinton, Little Dragon, Tierra Whack, Shabazz Palaces, Thundercat, Toro y Moi and Solange. FlyLo will be bringing his dazzling 3D live experience back to stages following the album's release, which we saw a version of at Auckland's Laneway Festival 2015. The artist shared his enthusiasm for working with .Paak in a recent chat with Zane Lowe (Beats 1 World Record), stating "I’ve known him for about 6 or 7 years, I think we had crossed paths before that, but that was when we started talking -- and he can play! He's a dangerous man”.
'Flamagra' is out on Friday 24th May via Warp.
