Christchurch guitar adventurer Roy Montgomery (The Pin Group, Dadamah, Dissolve) is making a very rare live Auckland appearance in mid-June, supporting visiting LA harp innovator Mary Lattimore and US ambient composer Julianna Barwick's upcoming collaborative event at The Tuning Fork. Today's announcement may come as no surprise to switched-on listeners, as Barwick contributed to the pioneering Cantabrian artist's internationally acclaimed 2018 album Suffuse. Today, The Great South Pacific Tuning Fork and 95bFM announce that experimental guitarist and composer, Roy Montgomery, will open for Mary Lattimore & Julianna Barwick's show on June 19th.

Roy Montgomery's catalogue of music spans from the '80s until now, including work in Flying Nun band, The Pin Group, Dadamah, Dissolve and collaborations with Flying Saucer Attack, Liz Harris (Grouper), Purple Pilgrims and more.

His most recent effort, Suffuse, a collection of atmospheric soundscapes laced with female vocals (Haley Fohr, She Keeps Bees, Katie Von Schleicher) was released last August to great critical acclaim. The 6-track album includes a special appearance from Julianna Barwick who adds her signature vocal layers on 'Sigma Octantis'.
